Campaigns structure

First thing to set up is how your product will be segmented into the campaigns. Setup process will not progress until you choose at least one campaign to create.

Empty Campaign Form

Tree of your categories that you could see on the previous screen has been based on the values of your Category property in your feed schema settings. If you do not see your categories, assign correct feed variable into this property.

Feed Category

You can play with the segmentation depth and when you click the Examine button, your categories will be segmented into the selected depth. Below you can see two examples. First takes all unique category values as categories itself and second one descends to depth of three and allows you to wrap products from categories like “Board games” into the single campaign.

Segmentation Depth

You will not be able to save this form until it is not in the valid state. As you can see on the screen below, there are different types of validations that will guide you through the setup process without any mistake:

  • if you choose to select at least one campaign for one of the target networks (AdWords, Sklik), their default values will be cross-validated
  • cross-validation means that default bid has to be lower that the default budget and they both have to follow the rules of the network for min/max values. Same applies to the specific campaign bids and budgets and if your decide to provide only one of specific values, it will be validated against its default equivalent (specific bid & default budget and so on)
  • campaign name pattern has to contain %NW% and %CATEGORY%/%FULL_CATEGORY% placeholders to ensure that final campaign names will be unique

Form Validation

In case of AdWords defaults, inputs for target languages and locations work as auto-complete fields, so just start typing any country and language you wish to display your ads for and choose one of the suggestions. All values are in english.

Below you can see an example of the valid campaigns structure form. Submit button is enabled, targetings are provided and all bid/budget pairs are cross-valid for each of selected networks.

Valid Form

If you proceed with click to the Check summarization & go to pattern setup button, you will be presented with summarization of your campaigns structure. You can either accept it and procced to the patterns setup form or go back to the campaigns structure form and refine your setup.

Patterns setup

Right after you continue to the patterns form, you will be presented with basic suggestions for your patterns. Default language of suggestions is english but you can play around and switch it by click to the national flag of your desired language at any time. You can stil drag & drop variables from the left panel or start typing into the inputs in ad and keyword patterns.

As you can see, in this case, we have decided to create 6 campaigns, 3 for AdWords and 3 for Sklik. Together, we will cover 15 items with ads, from which 11 will be for AdWords and 9 for Sklik (5 overlapping items). Sklik Ad pattern is empty only because of english suggestion language (so you will not display english ads in czech republic), but can be provided at any time.

Empty Patterns Form

Refine your patterns to fit your needs and you may come up to something simmilar to setup shown on the image below.

Valid Pattern Form

Submit your setup with one of Check summarization & create campaigns buttons and you will be presented with the last summarization before you actually create your campaigns.

Patterns Receipt

Accept the summarization and wait for the processing to finish.

Batch Loader

You will be then presented with success dialog that provides you three options you can use as a next action. For now, select Go to campaigns listing

Batch Create Success

Use the filter at the top of the listing to find the feed that you have used as a data source for your campaigns. You can then use the checkbox at the top of the table to select all campaigns. Campaigns can then be synchronized with remote advertising network by click to the Synchronize action.

Additional changes

If the structure, that you have created with our batch campaign creator is not good enough from the performance perspective (you need additional targeting, set more shared budgets, UTM tagging, …), you can still change settings of specific campaign in its own form. To find out how to manage campaign settings for campaigns in multiple networks, check our Product Campaigns Guide.
